Global sourcing project
In this project, my group was asked to create a fashion brand - AGIRE - including product assortment in addition to sourcing guidelines. Later in the developmental phase, the sourcing was narrowed down to several foreign suppliers in countries including Mexico, India, and Guatemala. Country research involved labor laws, economic policy, political environment, and key textile classifications in an effort to abide by AGIRE’s sourcing guidelines.
After carefully selecting which garments would be made in which country, line plans and prices were set in a mid-high pricing strategy based off AGIRE’s market position within it’s market segmentation. In conclusion, creating a comprehensive global sourcing strategy coupled with a clear brand vision, this project has positioned my knowledge about global sourcing in greater heights.
